Please note that this is not the official firmware reelased by Samsung and is the Cyanogen Mod 11 firmware which ropes in the goodness of Kitkat 4.4.2 Android firmware. While there are no updates on by when there will be official Kitkat 4.4.2 Android firmware for this smartphone, let’s check out on how you can apply this update manually.

Warning Note: Please note that since this is the custom ROM firmware, you need to have the root access.

Requirement:

· Data in your SAMSUNG GALAXY NotePro SM-P901 Android smartphone needs to be backed up with the help of below mentioned steps. Don’t backup the data with the help of KIES as it may not help you restore the data.

SMS – Use “SMS Backup & Restore app”,
ContactsSync with the Gmail application,
Call Log – Call Log and Restore
Images, Songs, Videos, Files – Copy to internal / External SD Card,
APN and MMS Settings – Note down from the path “Applications > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names

· Enable the USB Debugging Mode in your computer from the path “Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging”. Also, the minimum battery life should be a minimum of 50% or else there is a risk of device getting turned Off in the middle of firmware update.

Procedure to Update SAMSUNG GALAXY NotePro SM-P901 Android smartphone with Cyanogen Mod 11 Firmware:

· Disconnect the device from computer and turn Off the same so that the device can be entered in the recovery mode.
