Ask Topic : Card Reader Not Being Detected by the Computer

April 6th, 2013

Ask From : Jon < c**@ gmail.com >. Submitted on 2013/04/04 at 8:27 am.

Question :

I couldn’t make it work. I just insert the SD card and nothing happens. Even in Disk management it doesn’t show up. I have tried a lot of SD working cards on 3 different Acer AO 756 and none of them worked. I have searched on different forums and more people have this issue but couldn’t find a solution. Please check it and maybe update the driver or post a solution. Thank you

NOTE: The card reader will appear in two places: Disk Drives and Universal Serial Bus controls as USB Mass Storage. If there is a yellow exclamation point (!) or question mark (?) next to the device, try to refresh the drivers.

1. Right-click the entry with the error mark, select Uninstall.
2. On the top menu, click Action, and then click Scan for hardware changes.

4. Verify if the reader is detected
1. Double-click My Computer.
2. Look for the card reader under Devices with removable storage.
